The construction of the data center will be implemented jointly with the Kardesa project, which will lay the foundation for the creation of a new generation secure digital infrastructure in Ukraine.
During the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Gdansk, Poland, Vodafone Ukraine presented a large-scale project to create a state-of-the-art underground data center in Ukraine, the company reported to dev.ua.
The facility will receive Tier III certification at the design and operation levels, ensuring its compliance with the highest global standards of reliability and continuity.
Construction will take place in synergy with the Kardesa project, which will initiate the creation of a new generation of secure digital infrastructure in Ukraine.
"In the future, this complex will become an important part of the international data exchange ecosystem, integrating Ukraine into global data traffic transmission routes and opening up new opportunities for the formation of one of the key data hubs of Europe's digital architecture in the country," Vodafone Ukraine noted.
A new high-speed submarine cable system in the Black Sea will create a modern digital corridor between Europe and Asia. The Kardesa submarine fiber-optic communication network includes four exit points on the coast - in Bulgaria, Georgia, Turkey and Ukraine.
The project is designed to increase the variability of digital routes in the region, increase the reliability and speed of the Internet for users in the countries where the cable will pass, and also promote investments in development. digital economy of the project participating countries.
The first landfall of the cable is planned in Bulgaria in 2027, followed by Turkey, Georgia and Ukraine. Work on the Ukrainian section will take place exclusively in internationally recognized safe zones.
