President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has proposed increasing the age for men who can freely travel abroad during martial law from 18 to 22. The government, together with the military leadership, is working on amendments to the resolution.
The decision should allow all men under the age of 22 to leave the country without additional restrictions. This does not only apply to students, Forbes Ukraine reported.
These will be similar conditions that currently apply to crossing the border for persons under 18 years of age.
The final changes to the resolution are to be prepared by the Ministry of Education, with Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, and the military also involved in the process.
«This should happen within 10 days,» said the source in the OP. If we count from the president’s official statement, the Cabinet of Ministers must prepare the changes by August 21.
UPD. Yulia Svyrydenko confirmed that the Cabinet of Ministers plans to prepare a resolution on the departure of men under 22 years of age abroad.
«This will be a Cabinet resolution, which is currently being developed. This is a decision that does not require legislative changes, so it will be at the Cabinet level,» Svyridenko was quoted as saying by Suspilne.
