Ukrainian drone manufacturer Meta Bureau has signed a large-scale contract with the Ukrainian-American company Swarmer to supply software for autonomous drone control.
The initial value of the deal is $2.86 million, but if all options are exercised, the amount could increase to $13.2 million. This is stated in the Swarmer press release.
Under the contract, Meta Bureau will receive over 16,000 licenses. The software will be integrated into the company’s SkyKnight quadcopter bombers and other unmanned aerial vehicles. The agreement provides for the supply of a full stack of technologies: the Swarmer operating system, artificial intelligence modules and user interface.
«Swarmer technology is battle-proven and can work seamlessly with our solutions to save lives. We look forward to receiving more real-world mission data to further refine our models,» said Swarmer Global CEO Serhiy Kuprienko.
Meta Bureau emphasizes that the integration of advanced AI into SkyKnight drones should become a «force multiplier» in the fight against Russian invaders. The contract also allows the company to renew some of the licenses for an additional $10.4 million, which will allow it to scale the use of autonomous systems on the frontline.
Earlier, Serhiy Kuprienko spoke about the successful IPO and described the drone swarm technology his company is working on. According to him, the developers' goal is to eliminate the need for pilots for each individual device. This will eliminate the need for them to micromanage each drone.
