Rogalsky spoke about this on the Friday Evening podcast. He explained the decision to disband the team by saying that despite the constant costs of maintaining the staff, the functionality of the application remained unchanged for a long time, and the developers themselves had no room for professional development.
The history of Walkable began in February 2025 as an application for walking around cities. At the start, Mykhailo Rogalskyi involved an outsourcing company, but half a year of work and significant investments did not yield results: the application had an attractive design, but in fact did not work. Later, an internal team of two developers and two project managers worked on the project, which supported the product for about a year.
«I had an idea to promote the application in Britain, to test it there. Because it is difficult to promote paid applications in Ukraine,» the entrepreneur noted.
Rogalsky explained the decision to disband the team by saying that despite the constant costs of maintaining the staff, the application’s functionality remained unchanged for a long time, and the developers themselves had no room for professional development.
«Then it occurred to me that this could be the perfect platform to create an autonomous company run by AI. And I started working with Claude a couple of weeks ago to completely close all the roles that are needed in the company,» the author of Walkable explained.
Thus, the project has become a platform for experiments with autonomous AI. According to the entrepreneur, even complex tasks, such as fixing old bugs of the previous team, are already being performed thanks to AI, and the latest releases in TestFlight are the result of the work of algorithms.
Rogalsky considers the creation of a bot for handling feedback on WhatsApp, which he spent only 2.5 hours developing, to be his greatest achievement. The bot independently communicates with users, collects logs, investigates new problems and records them as bugs. The information is then passed on to another «skill,» Claude, who plans and implements fixes into the code.
«I have a question: how come you all haven’t done this in your business yet? I’ve been doing it in the evenings and between meetings, I don’t understand any of the individual steps: I’ve never done Instagram advertising campaigns, I’ve never done WhatsApp integration, I’ve never developed anything on iOS, and it still works out… It just amazes me how many people aren’t excited about this yet,» said Mykhailo Rogalsky.
Recall that the idea to create a walking service Walkable came to the entrepreneur during the coronavirus pandemic. He thought it would be convenient to have an application to track the places where you have been and where you have not. The service allows you to paint houses yellow on a gray map, marking places where the user has already been.
