She reported this in a comment to Forbes Ukraine. According to Svyrydenko, Ukraine already has a precedent for building an advanced digital economy through Diia.City.
«The next step is the formation of a full-fledged Web3 ecosystem that will combine blockchain technologies, digital assets, and smart contracts into the economic model of the future. Business is already declaring its willingness to invest in creating the largest Web3 hub in Europe, and the government welcomes this,» the Prime Minister said.
She noted that the launch of a «full-fledged Web3 economy» in Ukraine is currently limited by the lack of a finally adopted law on virtual assets. However, the Cabinet of Ministers has already decided to launch a national sandbox for Web3 technologies, where companies can test their products in experimental mode.
The Sandbox will be created for companies launching high-tech products that can be used in the fields of the digital economy, public services, healthcare, biotechnology, the agricultural sector, education and science, defense, etc. At the same time, such products must use artificial intelligence or blockchain technology.
Yulia Svyrydenko also said that Ukraine aspires to become a regional hub for blockchain and crypto companies, and is open to cooperation with international funds, exchanges, and local startups.
