Employees of the Russian marketplace Wildberries were banned from bringing smartphones into warehouses. They were only allowed to stay in touch using push-button phones without cameras.
This is reported by Russian media, citing an internal company message.
Wildberries explained the ban by the risk of leaking photos and videos during airstrikes. The company claims that such materials could reveal the positions of Russian air defenses. Employees were also warned of possible administrative and, in some cases, criminal liability.
Russian media also reported that after the strike on the Ryazan warehouse, workers said their phones were left in their lockers, so they had no connection. And the air raid siren sounded after the strike.

Wildberries workers from Elektrostal also complained about the late alarm and lack of safe evacuation, which forced workers to break down cargo doors and jump out. It is reported that there was also no evacuation at all in Kotovsk.

The restrictions were imposed amid a series of attacks on the marketplace’s logistics centers. According to the Russian publication «Agentstvo», as of July 31, 10 of Wildberries' 26 largest warehouses had been damaged. This is 38% of their total area.
This count does not include new strikes. On August 2, a fire broke out at a Wildberries warehouse in the Samara region, and on August 3, the company reported a fire at a facility in the Vladimir region.
