Ukrainian WINFLY has introduced a new modification of its WINFLY 10 Hunter interceptor drone — Spider. The new version can catch enemy drones with a net and, unlike the basic Hunter, can be used repeatedly.

The development is reported by Militarny.

Spider was created on the basis of another interceptor of the company — WINFLY 10 Hunter, but the principle of hitting the target was changed. If the basic drone worked as a kamikaze, the Spider was equipped with a KARAKURT-K2 net launcher from the Karakurt company. It shoots a net that should entangle the propellers of the enemy drone and immobilize it. After that, Spider can return, get a new cartridge and go flying again. One such cartridge costs 1100 UAH.

According to the manufacturer, Spider will be able to fight Mavic, FPV drones and fiber-optic drones. This is especially true for the latter, whose signal cannot be suppressed by electronic warfare, so physically cutting the cable or physically immobilizing them remains almost the only reliable ways to combat them. Therefore, netcomets can help effectively immobilize them.

Previously, dev.ua talked about drones from WINFLY, including WINFLY 10 HUNTER. Then its cost was 29,400 UAH. Now on the WINFLY Hunter website, depending on the configuration, it costs from 35,000 UAH. Brave1 Market also wrote about its use in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia and Sumy directions. Among the targets of the drone were Russian "Orlans", "Zals", "Lancets", "Molniya" and other aircraft-type UAVs.

The principle of multiple interception using a net is also already being used by other Ukrainian developers. For example, dev.ua wrote about net comets from Ptashka Drones, as well as a module with its own radar from Airnet, which itself determines the moment of launching the net and can transport the captured UAV.
