Ukrainian company WIY Drones presented a new anti-aircraft unmanned aircraft complex SPYS with a speed of up to 600 km/h. The drone is designed to engage high-speed maneuvering and reactive air targets, including strike and reconnaissance UAVs.
This is stated in the company’s official presentation materials.
According to the developers, the new interceptor is capable of reaching a maximum speed of up to 600 km/h, and its cruising speed is 200–250 km/h. The aircraft’s rate of climb reaches 50 m/s, and its flight altitude is up to 6,000 meters. SPYS is designed for short, high-intensity missions: its flight duration is up to 5 minutes, and the tactical radius and maximum flight range are up to 12 km. The mass of the drone’s warhead is 300 g.
The platform supports automatic takeoff, deployment to the interception area, and automated AI targeting. The complex is integrated with the RADA radar and the SkyMap system, which allows you to receive real-time air situation data and deploy the drone to the strike zone with minimal operator workload.
Among other features of the development is the ability to instantly change the video channel in the air without landing the aircraft. SPYS can be equipped with both daytime and thermal imaging cameras for operation at different times of the day.
