The Japanese Ministry of Defense has signed a contract for the purchase of interceptor drones manufactured by the Ukrainian company SkyFall.
The statement was made during a press conference, where the Japanese minister separately noted the high level of Ukrainian defense technologies and the speed of their adaptation to modern challenges.
SkyFall manufactures P1-SUN interceptors in various modifications, including with an AI module, as well as a version with increased flight speed for eliminating jet targets. Previously, footage was released showing the P1-SUN JetKiller intercepting Russian high-speed Geran-5 drones.
"The Japanese Ministry of Defense has already signed a contract for the purchase of interceptor drones from the Ukrainian company SkyFall. We are currently working to ensure their delivery as soon as possible," Koizumi noted.
He also drew attention to the "rapid feedback cycle," thanks to which drones with updated characteristics appear in Ukraine every two to three weeks.
SkyFall unveiled the P1-SUN JetKiller interceptor at the Farnborough International Air Show in England. It is designed to destroy enemy jet attack drones.
The interceptor reaches speeds of up to 370 km/h, has a flight range of up to 30 km, operates at altitudes of up to 9,000 meters, stays in the air for up to 15 minutes, and carries a warhead weighing 500 g. During straight-line flight, its systems do not overheat in any operating mode.
