Japanese Terra Drone begins deployment of new interceptor drones in Ukraine

Terra Drone, a Japanese developer of drone and urban air mobility technologies, has announced the start of operational deployment of the Terra A2 aircraft-type interceptor drone in Ukraine.
The move will allow the Terra A2 drone to be tested in real combat conditions to officially achieve «combat-proven» status, the company said. It’s a chance for developers to prove that aircraft interceptors are effective for large-scale air defense, gather critical data from the front, and prepare for entry into the global arms market.
In addition, Terra Drone wants to combine the new drone with its other development, the Terra A1 missile interceptor drone (which is already on the front lines and successfully shooting down targets). Together, they will form a powerful echeloned sky defense system.
The Terra A2 is an aircraft-type interceptor drone designed for large-area surveillance, long-range flights, and long-term airborne endurance. It has a top speed of 312 km/h, a coverage radius of up to 75 km, and a flight duration of over 40 minutes.
In addition, the drone is designed to integrate with radar systems (RAL). This allows for the creation of a single aircraft-type interception platform capable of large-scale surveillance, detection, tracking and interception of targets. Thus, the Terra A2 provides an additional echelon of air defense over large areas, allowing to neutralize threats before they even arrive, complementing traditional air defense systems that focus mainly on short-range interception.
