The internal platform, called EPGenAI Hub, is expected to become a safer alternative to the publicly available AI services that MEPs and staff already use in their legislative work.

The beta version of the platform has already been presented to MEPs and staff during practical seminars, Cybernews reports .
According to the developers, EPGenAI Hub can be used for “everyday practical tasks,” which will help you work smarter and faster.
The platform allows users to choose artificial intelligence models that run locally within the European Parliament's own infrastructure (e.g. Llama from Meta, GPT-OSS from OpenAI and Mistral Small).
Additionally, there is the option to use externally hosted cloud models, including ChatGPT from OpenAI and Claude Sonnet from Anthropic.
Such dependence on American models may contradict Europe's recent aspirations for digital independence, primarily from the United States.
In June 2026, the European Parliament replaced Google with the French search engine Qwant , making it the default system on the computers of MEPs and staff.
The public version of EPGenAI Hub may appear as early as September.
