The number of UAVs approved for operation increased by 30% over the year
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially approved 413 models of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for use in the military since the beginning of 2026. Almost all of them were developed and manufactured in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially approved 413 models of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for use in the military since the beginning of 2026. Almost all of them were developed and manufactured in Ukraine.
The pace of codification of unmanned systems has increased significantly: now this figure is a third (+30%) higher than in the same period last year, and 73% higher than the results of two years ago, the Ministry of Defense reports .
The Ukrainian arsenal has included modern high-tech unmanned systems that have already proven their effectiveness on the battlefield. In particular, since the beginning of 2026, the Ministry of Defense has officially codified the following drones:
aerial reconnaissance of balloon, aircraft and copter types;
aircraft and copter-type attack drones;
FPV;
UAV bombers;
interceptor drones;
repeater drones;
target drones;
Fiber optic BPA;
front-strike;
deep strike.
"Among those codified, the largest number are copter-type strike drones and fiber-optic UAVs. The number of front-strike strike drones has also increased significantly," the military department noted.
The arsenal of the air warriors of the Defense Forces of Ukraine has been replenished with the Ukrainian "Galka", Skyriper Minotaur, "Gor Elks", "Beshket", Shturm, Bababoom, Zorro since the beginning of 2026.
Also codified are the new UAVs Blinc, "Optoslon", "Chumak", "Sokil", Hydra, "Kruk", "Dzyga", "Kharyok", "Buran", "White Wolf", "January", etc.
