According to the operator’s press service, in May last year this figure was about 1.5 million households.
Currently, GPON technology is available to residents of 61 settlements in 17 regions of Ukraine.
The largest coverage is deployed in large cities: the leader is Kyiv, where 662,000 households already have access to GPON, in Odessa the network covers 277,000 apartments and private houses, in Dnipro — 244,000, and in Lviv — 160,000.
«Over the past year, the GPON subscriber base has grown by 23%. Responding to these needs, Vega has fully completed the modernization of the network, migrating all subscribers from previous technologies to PON,» said Sergey Skrypnikov, CEO of Vega, which develops Vodafone’s fixed Internet.
Previously, dev.ua reported that Vodafone launched solar panels on the first 100 base stations in Ukraine.
