The war took the life of Major Volodymyr Friz of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Before mobilization, he worked at SoftServe as a QC Engineer for over 11 years.
Volodymyr was born on January 3, 1992 in Lviv, DOU reports . After graduating from Lyceum No. 80, he entered the Lviv Polytechnic National University, where he majored in Computer Engineering and graduated from the Military Department.
He began his military service in 2023. He held the position of head of the situation generalization department of the headquarters command post in the 117th separate heavy mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took direct part in the hostilities in the Donetsk and Zaporizhia directions.
He was awarded the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's Silver Cross and the War Veteran medal.
Volodymyr died on October 26, 2025 in Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast. He was 33 years old.
