Purchasing the first components under the "honest word" and an R&D laboratory in the basement. How Celebra Tech gradually went from the first drones to the development of the "Trident" laser weapon

The founder of Celebra Tech, whose name is not disclosed, spoke about the history of the creation of the company that developed the Trident laser weapon, and the difficulties that were overcome along the way.
According to the company’s founder, who took a direct part in defending the Kyiv region from enemy invasion, the first product they worked on with the team was a drone (currently the company has a line of Laurus FPV drones).
«In fact, we made these drones for ourselves. Our unit „Lavry Patriotam“ joined the Main Intelligence Directorate. Then we moved to the SBU (counterintelligence), where I helped form the first groups of pilots,» said the company’s founder.
The founder of Celebra Tech shared that he raised start-up capital from private entrepreneurs who actually acted as business angels: they financed the purchase of the first components on the basis of their word of honor and a shared vision.
The company’s team also began to form from the people with whom its founder defended Ukraine from the enemy. The first «production base and R&D laboratory,» as the publication writes, was a basement under one of the civilian stores.
The company’s founder recalled that the first iterations of Celebra Tech’s drones had custom aluminum frames, which even made them the object of ridicule from Russian propaganda. However, this did not prevent the products from demonstrating their effectiveness.
What about the Trident laser weapon?
After the initial development of drones, the company significantly expanded its product line with NRC and electronic warfare systems. Finally, they began working on the development of the Trident laser weapon, which the manufacturer promises to present in the near future, without specifying a timeframe.
It is known that in 2026 the team integrated the complex into a mobile trailer platform for combating drones. The developers also improved the guidance system using AI, target acquisition and tracking, and integration with radars for tracking the trajectory of movement.
The effective range of FPV drones is currently 800–900 meters, and for reconnaissance UAVs the figure can reach 1.5 km. At the same time, developers are still working on increasing its range. Currently, the Trident is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 5 km.
