The devices will be available in aluminum, magnesium alloy and carbon fiber cases. They have OLED displays with a resolution of up to 2.8K, glass touchpads with haptic feedback and a Glowbar light strip that displays the charge level and animations when interacting with the assistant. The laptops are equipped with Intel and Qualcomm processors with neural coprocessors (NPU) with a capacity of over 45 TOPS and provide up to 14 hours of battery life.
The main focus is on seamless interaction with Android smartphones. Thanks to the common architecture, users can automatically transfer settings and saved networks, continue working with applications, browse smartphone files in the system file manager, and broadcast mobile applications in windows on the desktop via the Cast My Apps function.
The system is equipped with Gemini Intelligence AI tools, including Magic Pointer for quickly calling an assistant to any element on the screen, Rambler for voice input and structuring notes, and a custom widget generator. For developers, Linux support is provided through the isolated pKVM security level 5 hypervisor, a terminal environment for running Claude Code or Antigravity CLI, and the Antigravity AI agent development platform.
Googlebook buyers will receive a 12-month subscription to Google AI Pro with 5TB of cloud storage, as well as 10 years of guaranteed operating system updates. The official start of sales in the US is scheduled for October 4, and in Canada, the UK, France and Germany - on October 5.
Recall that Google has long developed ChromeOS as a lightweight operating system for Chromebooks, focused mainly on web applications and the education sector. At the same time, the company suspended production of its own premium Pixelbook laptop series several years ago.
