The entire history of copypastik in one place: a product manager coded a Mac app "for himself" — Copypastik
When Andriy Ivanchenko, a product manager at monobank, switched from Windows to Mac, he found the system clipboard lacking. After trying out a bunch of apps, he decided to create an AI-powered tool that would be perfect for him. The result was so effective in his daily work that Andriy decided to share the app with others and even launched a website for it.

After trying out a bunch of apps, he decided to create an AI-powered tool that would be perfect for him. "When I switched from Windows to Mac, I really missed the clipboard (Win+V). That thing that remembers everything copied: links, text, screenshots, and you don't have to jump between windows. I tried different apps on Mac and none of them worked. I got used to it. And then I thought: I'm a product, I can write requirements. And Codex will write the code for $20/month. Why not make an app for yourself?", - Andriy Ivanchenko said on LinkedIn.
The product manager spent several evenings creating the application, calling it Copypastik.
Andriy chose Codex because it offers much more generous limits. On a $20 subscription, he only once exceeded the 5-hour limit, while Claude Code’s tokens “burn” almost instantly. In addition, having a separate desktop application seemed much more convenient for the developer to work with.
And although Andriy notes that the app doesn't do anything extraordinary, it performs all the functions he needs: it stores the last 20 items and is called with the Control + Option + V combination.
The product works on the principle of privacy first: everything is stored locally, without creating accounts or authorization. The application weighs only 5 MB.
Andriy also added: "The app is safe, I'm just not in the Apple Developer Program yet. But I think it's temporary."
His own positive experience using his tool prompted the author to make it public. So he purchased a domain, built the site using the same Codex, and released it.
Andriy noted that if macOS issues a warning about an unknown developer when you first launch it, do the following: go to System Preferences → Privacy & Security → scroll to the bottom and click Open Anyway.
On the Copypastik website, you can find the GitHub repository and download the .dmg file for installation.

Тест dev.ua
