Chinese home appliance manufacturer Dreame Technology is giving employees gold and a trip to Antarctica in addition to their annual bonuses as a way to thank them for becoming one of the world's leaders in the robot vacuum cleaner market this year.
Each Dreame employee will receive a bonus of one gram of gold in addition to their standard annual salary. The company also plans to reward 10 employees with a trip to Antarctica, the South China Morning Post reports .
This “golden share” will cost the company about $3.7 million or 26 million yuan. The calculation was made taking into account that the retail price of gold is currently around 1,400 yuan per gram, and Dreame Technology has a total staff of about 18,500 employees.
Dreame held 12.4% of the global robot vacuum cleaner market share in the first three quarters of 2025, according to IDC. Revenue for the first six months of 2025 has already surpassed that of the previous year.
