Among the main tasks, he named a significant increase in financial support — both in the rear and in combat positions.
In his opinion, the minimum level of pay in the army should be no less than 30,000 UAH for rear positions, while the salary of infantrymen on the front line should be set within 250,000 — 400,000 UAH, depending on the performance of combat missions.
The president also announced that a phased demobilization option should appear this year.
«I instructed to strengthen the contract system in the Defense Forces in such a way that, by expanding the contract component, we can ensure certain terms of service and the possibility — starting this year — of gradually releasing those who were mobilized earlier, based on clear time criteria,» Zelenskyy noted.
