Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Kozenko said that the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex is capable of producing 10 million drones per year. According to him, drones currently cause 80% of battlefield casualties.
He spoke about this at the Shangri-La Dialogue security forum in Singapore. Kozenko emphasized that Ukrainian drones are much cheaper than other analogs and have been tested in real combat conditions.
«Ukraine has brought the drone industry to a new level and is developing innovative solutions both in the air, on land, and in water. Currently, the Ukrainian defense industry has the capacity to produce 10 million different drones per year», — noted Oleksandr Kozenko.
He also pointed to the experience of Ukrainian UAV operators on a daily basis, and noted that «Ukraine is writing doctrinal changes to the use of these weapons.» Kozenko stated that drones cause 80% of all damage on the battlefield.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated at the summit of the Bucharest Nine and the Nordic countries in Vilnius that arms production is of great importance.
«Europe, together with America, has better weapons than Russia. We also have stronger tactical solutions — our yesterday’s operation „Cobweb“ proved this. Russia must feel what losses mean. This is what will push it to diplomacy», — Zelenskyy said.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine reported on a historic special operation on Russian territory, in which FPV drones taking off from trucks near airfields destroyed dozens of enemy aircraft that were attacking Ukraine. To carry it out, the SBU first transported drones to Russia, and later mobile wooden houses for camouflage.
«Our strikes will last exactly as long as the Russian Federation terrorizes Ukrainians with missiles and suicide bombers.» SBU Chief Vasyl Malyuk commented on the special operation «Website»
