Collecting flowers, arguing over gifts for children, and endless “pluses” on Viber are the nightmare of any parent committee. Software developer Roman created the web application “Na Shtory”, which replaced the chaos in messengers with a structured bulletin board and transparent reporting. The site is visited by about 3,500 unique users every day, and not only schools, but also kindergartens and volunteers are already interested in the functionality. We talked to Roman and tell the story of the project’s creation.

Development engineer Ivan Ursul, who has almost 15 years of experience and recently defended his PhD in Computer Science, told dev.ua about Svitgrid. This is an application for monitoring and controlling home solar power plants, which he develops himself. The project began as a pet-project, and now, according to the author, it already works on more than a hundred stations in Ukraine and several abroad (a map of stations can be viewed on the service’s website).

System administrator Timur Morozov developed a specialized Android application Azimut GPS, which detects problems in satellite navigation and transmits the user's real coordinates directly to Waze or Google Maps.

Ukrainian AI Product Manager Vitaliy Kobzev created and launched MindLoop, a web platform with daily logic puzzles, in 30 days. During this time, the project went from the first commit to real payments, and a significant part of the work was performed by AI agents.

Ukrainian developer Volodymyr Kovalchuk has been developing the application "Alarm Map of Ukraine. Widget" for four years, which allows you to learn about air threats in real time. Today, the application allows you to add an alarm map to your home screen as a widget, choose a design style (map colors, region and district boundaries, appearance of different alarm states) and monitor the situation without unnecessary actions — including a version for Apple Watch, where you can view the map directly on your watch. The application is available on the App Store and Google Play . The developer told dev.ua the story of the project, from the first version made a week ago at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, to the modern ecosystem with support for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch.

A student of the Faculty of Information Technologies of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv — Dmytro Matsenko — created the iOS application Worder for learning foreign words, which was downloaded by more than 18,000 users in less than two months. The project, which began as a personal tool, broke into the top of the App Store of Ukraine and entered the ratings of 11 countries around the world. The developer told dev.ua about the idea, technical feat and viral success.
