Kryvyi Rih police have found that a 16-year-old teenager used his programming skills to hack into ATMs. The amount of damage caused is almost UAH 500,000.
To do this, the guy analyzed in detail the algorithms of the delivery service's mobile app, which allowed him to remotely open mailboxes, police said .
Then he developed a program that allowed him to bypass the standard payment process. He also created a fake clone application with which he hacked the payment system. The program simulated a successful transaction, fooling the automated system of the post office. As a result, the guy received orders for free, since the system considered them to be fully paid.
On March 27, the teenager was officially declared a suspect. He is accused not only of interfering with the operation of computer networks, but also of a series of thefts.
