As reported by the Ukrainian telecom community MZU, on March 26, 2026, 3G technology will be turned off in a number of settlements in several regions of Ukraine, and its frequency resource will be redistributed in favor of 4G (LTE).
We are talking about the following cities:
«The gradual rollback of 3G technology is a multi-year project that is of great importance for the entire electronic communications industry, because thanks to it, not only does the customer experience improve and the speed of 4G increase, but the network is also being prepared for the launch of 5G technology in Ukraine. And this can be implemented, including by freeing up frequencies from outdated technologies, such as 3G,» Kyivstar previously reported.
Last year, the company noted that only 5% of Kyivstar’s entire subscriber base still uses 3G.
