China supplies most of the electronic components for Russian drones: according to an unnamed top NATO official, approximately 80% of the critical electronic components used in Russian UAVs are manufactured there.
Citing a briefing by a senior NATO official in Brussels, the publication «Military» writes about this.
«About 80% of critical electronic components used in Russian drones and other modern equipment are manufactured in China. Since 2023, Russia has purchased over $20 billion in production tools, components, and consumables,» he stated.
The NATO official emphasized that without China’s support, the Russians would not have been able to continue the war in the form in which it is currently ongoing.
He also added that China is involved in the re-export of equipment from countries that have imposed sanctions on the Russian Federation, as well as the export of technological equipment and electronics manufactured by subsidiaries of Western companies in China.
«Thanks to this support, Russia was able to establish the production of more tanks, armored vehicles, and missiles for waging war against Ukraine,» the senior NATO official noted.
In addition, according to him, China is also actively involved in hybrid operations aimed at supporting Russian interests.
«We have observed hostile information manipulation and political interference, especially cyberattacks against allies originating from China and carried out in support of Russian goals,» he stressed.
