In recent days, lawyers have recorded a massive wave of appeals from citizens who are denied reservations precisely because of this status, since according to the current Cabinet resolution, only those subject to military service, not reservists, are subject to reservations.
"I don't know what's being done. The top requests for the past few days have been refusals to book due to the fact that the citizen is a reservist. Yes, indeed, friends, it is impossible to book a reservist according to the general classical rule, because the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers does not provide for this," said Tetyana Potapova.
As lawyer Maryna Bekalo explained to TSN, the military operational reserve includes people who already have combat or service experience, have completed basic combined arms training (BZVP), have a sought-after military specialty, as well as men aged 45 to 60 who can be recruited to strengthen territorial defense. The presence of such a mark in the application means that the state considers these citizens a priority resource for the army.
"Such individuals are registered in the reserve for priority mobilization in case additional forces are needed at the front," Bekalo emphasized.
The main goal of forming such a reserve is to enable the fastest possible replenishment of combat units, deployment of forces, or rotations in the event of a sudden aggravation of the situation at the front, therefore these categories of citizens cannot be reserved by enterprises.
