Chinese engineers claim to have created the world's first fully autonomous AI agent, Manus. What it can do
A group of Chinese software engineers has developed «the world’s first fully autonomous artificial intelligence agent.» Unlike ChatGPT, Gemini, or Grok, the AI agent called Manus can independently perform complex tasks without human guidance, including recruiting.
A group of Chinese software engineers has developed «the world’s first fully autonomous artificial intelligence agent.» Unlike ChatGPT, Gemini, or Grok, the AI agent called Manus can independently perform complex tasks without human guidance, including recruiting.
Instead of using just one AI model, Manus works as a manager that manages multiple specialized sub-agents. This allows it to seamlessly handle complex, multi-step workflows, writes Interesting Engineering.
For example, if a person asks, «Find me an apartment,» Manus can conduct research, evaluate numerous factors (crime rates, weather, market trends), and provide personalized recommendations.
This AI agent can work asynchronously, meaning it can perform tasks in the background and only notify users when the results are ready, without constant human supervision.
It is noted that this is a significant step forward, as most AI has relied heavily on humans to initiate tasks. Manus is a transition to fully autonomous AI, which opens up both new opportunities and concerns about job losses for humans.
The developers say that Manus is not just an intellectual achievement. It could have critical real-world applications, including in recruiting. In this role, Manus can autonomously analyze resumes, cross-reference labor market trends, and make optimal hiring decisions, complemented by detailed analysis and reporting.
Another interesting application could be software development, where agents like Manus can quickly create a professional website from scratch. The agent can also extract the necessary information from social networks, deploy the site on the Internet, and independently resolve technical issues with hosting.
Recall that OpenAI intends to launch several «agent» products for various applications, including software development and sorting and ranking sales leads. Such «agents» will cost from $2,000 to $20,000 per month.
In a comment to dev.ua, the developer noted that he is not a professional programmer and wanted to do something useful for his younger brother, who is learning English. According to him, Grok 3 felt «like a smart friend who really wants to help.»
Developers have trained AI agents to communicate in a language that only they understand. GibberLink’s GGWave «language» sounds to the human ear as a series of high-frequency sounds. Video
Як нейромережі бачать вільну та незалежну Україну? Тест dev.ua
