In the spring of 2024, Google first launched AI reviews on Google Search. Within days of the launch , users noticed significant issues with the answers . For example, one user tried to search Google for a pizza recipe that wouldn't easily slide off the cheese. AI Overview responded by saying that glue was needed to keep the cheese from sliding off. The company took steps to improve the product after receiving reports of such errors.
How does AI Overviews work?
For example, if you need ideas for planning a party or a quick tip on caring for your houseplants, the AI Overview extension, thanks to Gemini’s custom model, does all the hard work and provides a quick overview of key information.
