The head of the IT department of one of the Kharkiv municipal enterprises repeatedly accepted bribes from an entrepreneur for concluding contracts for IT services. Now both could go to jail.
The 48-year-old man served as the customer for information maintenance services for the enterprise's software complexes as the head of the IT department, according to the Kharkiv region police.
He received bribes in the amount of 20% of the cost of the work under the contract from the entrepreneur who provided these services. Thus, during 2024, the perpetrator "enriched" by 200,000 UAH, according to the investigation.
The perpetrator was caught while giving and receiving another bribe. Searches were also conducted at the residences of the suspects, and computer equipment, mobile phones, cash, accounting documents, two unregistered weapons and ammunition were seized.
According to the results of the criminal investigation, the IT manager faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property, and the entrepreneur faces up to 6 years in prison with or without confiscation of property.
The criminal investigation has been completed and the indictment against the defendants has been sent to court.
