IT agents who spied for the FSB were detained in Kyiv and Odessa

The SBU detained an FSB agent, an IT worker from Mykolaiv, who became active this year after 12 years of «standby.» To collect more data on the deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the traitor recruited another IT worker from Odessa into the case — together they created a whole network of informants who spied on the Ukrainian military.
According to the case file, the executor of the FSB order was a recruited IT specialist from Mykolaiv. Russian special services involved him in cooperation back in 2014, after which they «canned» him for future operations. Recently, the enemy «activated» his agent and ordered him to move to Kyiv. The traitor’s main task was to collect data on public figures, politicians and representatives of the security and defense sector command, against whom the Russian Federation was preparing sabotage and terrorist attacks.
As the investigation revealed, since February of this year, the person in question began preparing coordinates for a targeted missile strike on the capital, in particular, on the house of the head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. On the instructions of the curator from Moscow, the agent was to track the residential addresses and travel routes of potential targets.
To accomplish his tasks, the attacker disguised his subversive activities as providing private services for the administration and maintenance of computer systems. He actively made new acquaintances and, under the guise of ordinary everyday conversations, asked for the necessary information, using people «in the dark» to collect intelligence.
Later, the defendant recruited a colleague, an IT specialist from Odessa. Together, they deployed a network of informants who collected and transmitted data on the deployment of Ukrainian troops.
SBU officers detained the organizer in a rented apartment in Kyiv, and at the same time handcuffed his accomplice in Odessa. During authorized searches, smartphones containing indisputable evidence of their work for the FSB were seized from both detainees.
Based on the collected evidence, investigators of the Security Service informed both detainees of suspicion under the article on high treason committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The court has now chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for the perpetrators. They face the maximum penalty for their crimes — life imprisonment with full confiscation of property.
