Czech indie studio Amanita Design, known for games like CHUCHEL, Samorost, and many others, has once again announced that it will donate a week’s profit from its projects to charity for Ukrainians. Last time, this provoked a flurry of negative reviews from Russians on Steam.
«From February 2nd to 9th, we are donating 100% of revenue from all of our games and DLC to People in Need to support humanitarian aid in Ukraine, where Russian forces continue their invasion, committing war crimes and atrocities against civilians,» the developers noted.
They explained that these funds will help provide food, heat, and home repairs for Ukrainians suffering from Russian aggression.
Last year, Amanita Design held a similar campaign, and also added Ukrainian flags to the covers of its games on Steam, which the Russians did not like, and they staged the so-called «review bombing».
Russian gamers began writing negative reviews of the studio’s games, lowering their ratings. In response, Ukrainian gamers began leaving positive reviews, thanking the Czech developers for their support.
Amanita Design later clarified that they managed to raise $68,000 for humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
Currently, all of Amanita Design’s games have very favorable ratings on Steam — the platform has identified most of the reviews added in March 2025 as «off-topic» and does not take them into account in the rating.
«Paterya uvazheniya.» Russian gamers are underestimating the games of the Czech studio Amanita Design because it is once again helping Ukrainians who suffered from the Russian invasion
«This is our most successful fundraiser.» Amanita Design has completed a campaign to donate profits from its games to help Ukraine, which previously angered the Russians
