According to Business Insider, citing an internal Amazon document, Kiro is an AI application that uses artificial intelligence agents to analyze user queries and generate code in near real-time. It can be customized for different needs, integrated with both internal and third-party agents, and used with knowledge bases, extensions, and themes.
Unlike AWS’s existing AI assistant called Amazon Q, Kiro is likely to be a broader application that will use multiple AI agents to automate various aspects of development. Internal documents indicate that Amazon was considering launching Kiro in late June, but that timeline could change.
AI coding assistants are software tools that use artificial intelligence to help developers write, understand, and optimize code. They can offer code completion, detect errors, generate code snippets based on text queries, explain complex code, and even help create technical documentation.
Recently, SharksCode CTO Igor Morgunov, in a conversation with dev.ua, told what role AI plays in the daily work of programmers.
