As the developers note in the official announcement, the new solution is designed to replace the chaotic management of multiple terminal tabs and complex tmux settings.
Anthropic says that Agent View improves the visualization and interaction with command line sessions. Users can now see the status of all active tasks in a single list, showing progress information, last interaction time, and human intervention requests.
The new mode is accessed by pressing the left arrow key or by typing claude agents. The main advantage is the ability to put any session into the background using the /bg command or to «run new tasks» in the background using the --bg parameter. This allows the developer to only intervene in the AI when Claude needs a specific solution or clarification.
«Submit multiple ideas at once, each of which can be associated with a skill, and return to a list of pull requests ready for review,» the company explains in one use case for scaling development. The system is also used for long-running tasks, such as monitoring pull requests or automatically updating dashboards.
The feature is already available as a Research preview for Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise plan users, and via the Claude API.
