Ukrainian product IT companies appflame and Genesis, in partnership with Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, have announced the launch of AI Academy. This is a long-term educational project for students who aspire to develop in the field of artificial intelligence and product IT.
The press release states that within the AI Academy, NaUKMA students will study artificial intelligence tools, the logic of building digital products, and solve practical cases. The educational process will be coordinated by teachers from the Academy’s Faculty of Informatics together with practitioners from the technology sector.
«Now the market needs people who can build AI systems for business tasks. This is the type of skill that can mostly be formed in practice. Therefore, we are creating an environment where students will work with AI agents, logical workflows and solution architecture and will learn from people who build tech products every day. If the university wants to remain relevant for a strong technical youth, education must move at about the same speed or faster than the industry,» explained appflame co-founder and COO Yevhen Vygnan.
The academy’s curriculum will cover several formats:
A digital product development certificate program dedicated to AI agents and architectural solutions.
A four-day AI Orchestration Summer School on process automation, which starts this summer.
Annual specialized competitions in designing multi-agent systems for business.
Informal meetings with IT experts to discuss technology trends.
Genesis Chief Growth Officer Oleksiy Nishchyk emphasized that the one-off study of artificial intelligence in individual lectures is no longer enough, as the field requires a systematic educational approach. According to him, the goal of the partnership is to form a new generation of AI-native specialists for Ukrainian technology businesses.
The main venue for learning and meetings will be the tenth building of NaUKMA, which is currently being reconstructed into a modern space for the Faculty of Informatics. The company appflame financed the completion of the work and will equip the building with a classroom and student co-working.
AI Academy programs will be open to undergraduate students of NaUKMA in any major who successfully pass the preliminary selection process. Details on registration for the first courses and summer school will be published by the organizers later.
