Apple has introduced the iPhone 16e, its new budget smartphone. This device is the successor to the third-generation iPhone SE.
The iPhone 16e has a larger 6.1-inch OLED display instead of the 4.7-inch LCD in the previous iPhone SE model. The screen has a notch for Face ID. The smartphone runs on the A18 chip, which provides support for Apple Intelligence features. The device is also equipped with Apple’s first proprietary 5G modem called C1.
The iPhone 16e has a single 48-megapixel camera on the back. It provides 2x optical zoom.
Other features include an Action Button instead of a sound mode switch and a USB-C port instead of Lightning.
Apple will open orders for the iPhone 16e from February 21. In the US, the price of the smartphone starts at $599. It will be available in white and black with capacities of 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB.
