Famous Ukrainian esports player Oleksiy «White-Ra» Krupnyk, who played StarCraft: Brood War and StarCraft II and ended his career in 2014, is planning to publish an autobiographical book about his career. He has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the project.
«White-Ra’s autobiography is more than a personal memoir. It’s a window into the world of the birth of Ukrainian esports, the rise of the global gaming industry, and the power of community», the book’s Kickstarter description reads.
Oleksiy «White-Ra» Krupnyk is known for his StarCraft protoss play and his catchphrases «more GG, more skill» and «special tactics». He is a multiple winner of the Ukrainian StarCraft championships, as well as the IGN ProLeague champion and the Intel Extreme Masters silver medalist in StarCraft II. He has earned over $60,000 in prize money over his career.
In 2014, he almost stopped training and began devoting more time to working in the esports industry. Krupnik collaborated with Twitch and signed a contract with Taiwanese PV component manufacturer Thermaltake, helping them promote their own esports brand, Tt eSports.
White-Ra’s autobiography will tell about his childhood in Odessa, the beginning of his career as an esportsman in computer clubs of the 90s, matches against the strongest opponents in StarCraft from Korea and France, and 12 years of work on Twitch. The book will also contain advice for young athletes and streamers, as well as statistical data.

«I want to share my story so that everyone can feel the spirit of the 90s, understand how esports unites people, and see how dreams can change your life. This is not just my story — it is a tribute to everyone who made this journey possible. Thank you for your support, friendship, and faith. Let’s create special tactics together!», — said Oleksiy Krupnyk.
He wants to raise $30,000 to create and publish his autobiography. These funds will go towards writing the manuscript, creating Ukrainian and English versions, design and illustrations, publishing a printed book, etc. Ukrainian gaming and esports journalist Oleksiy Kharchenko, former editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian publication Players, will assist in writing the book.
So far, a little over $5,000 has been raised for Krupnik’s autobiography, and there are 38 days left until the campaign ends.
