Average salary in Ukraine in April: IT sector remains the leader, but records a decline
In April 2026, the average salary in Ukraine increased to UAH 30,515, which is 0.5% more compared to March. The IT industry continues to lead the ranking of the most profitable areas, however, the average income of specialists in the industry decreased slightly compared to the previous month.

This is evidenced by the published data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
According to statistics, the highest average salaries in Ukraine in April were recorded in the IT sector, where the figure was UAH 77,861. Despite maintaining leadership, compared to March (UAH 85,673), there is a decrease in the average income of IT workers.
The second and third positions in terms of salaries are occupied by the finance and insurance sector — UAH 69,446 (versus UAH 64,906 in March), as well as the production of pharmaceutical products — UAH 61,701 (versus UAH 56,921).
However, the lowest incomes are recorded in the sphere of culture and light industry. Employees of libraries, archives and museums receive an average of 15,128 UAH, workers in the sphere of arts and entertainment - 15,716 UAH, and textile and clothing manufacturers - 18,856 UAH.
In terms of regional income, the highest level of income remains in Kyiv. The average salary in the capital in April was UAH 48,003 (in March — UAH 49,381). The lowest income is in Kirovohrad region — UAH 21,199.
The State Statistics Service also recorded an increase in wage arrears. As of May 1, 2026, the debts reached UAH 3.7 billion, an increase compared to UAH 3.6 billion in April and UAH 3.5 billion in March.
