The author reported on the launch and technical details of the platform on the Reddit forum.
The platform operates under the slogan «Buy and sell nearby.» According to the developer, the idea arose as an attempt to solve the problem of the chaos of local groups in messengers, where posts are quickly lost and searching for products is inefficient.
The site has ads structured by categories, and filtering by cities in Ukraine is also set up. Currently, the site already has offers from users from Odesa, Kharkiv, Chernivtsi, Dnipro, and other cities in the categories of real estate, transport, electronics, 3D printing services, and handmade.
From a technical point of view, the developer abandoned SPA frameworks like React or Vue. Instead, he used classic server-side rendering (SSR) using the EJS templating engine in conjunction with Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Redis. Mobile versions were adapted using the Capacitor tool.
«Since the entire project is built on Node.js, it was easier for me to maintain a single stack. Also important for the ad service were SEO, indexing by search engines, and correct formation of link previews in social networks and messengers. In this regard, server-side rendering turned out to be a more successful solution,» explains Oleksandr Sovenko.
He noted that this was his first experience creating and releasing a full-fledged product. Sovenko added that while working on the project, he independently mastered mobile development, setting up push notifications, authorization via OAuth, and CI/CD processes.
