AI-powered platform Base44 has announced the launch of a new standalone product, Base Code. The tool connects GitHub repositories to a shared cloud environment, allowing technical and non-technical professionals to create, test, and edit code using natural language.
Work from anywhere, with your entire team, without local setup: Projects run in the cloud and are accessible from a browser or mobile device without the need to install or configure anything. Team members can make changes to the codebase via AI-powered chat without even running the code locally.
Develop in plain language with real-time preview: Any team member describes changes in chat and sees them immediately in real-time preview. Choose from multiple AI models for communication.
Team-wide collaboration: Once set up, everyone on your team can work in one shared workspace. Product managers, designers, QA engineers, and operations teams can make changes alongside engineers, view the same live preview, and complement each other’s work in real time.
Enterprise-level controls: Workspace owners and admins can restrict imports to approved GitHub organizations. Sensitive data is stored encrypted, shared across branches, and never pushed to the repository.

Unlike the main Base44 constructor, which is focused on creating projects from scratch, Base Code is designed for companies with existing production code bases.
