Ukrainian company Edrone has introduced a line of interceptor drones called «Baton» — two devices with different designs and different combat missions. This was reported by the team of the Ukrainian Council of Arms Manufacturers.
The first model is the Baton Wing Interceptor, an aircraft-type drone. It is aimed at intercepting massive air threats, in particular Shahed-type kamikaze drones. Key characteristics are high speed, long range, and long time in the air. The developers position it as a cost-effective solution for operating in real combat conditions.
The second model is the Baton Copter Interceptor, a copter-based design. It is designed for other scenarios: rapid deployment and maneuverable destruction of targets at low altitudes, including those that actively change trajectory. In fact, it is an answer to one of the most difficult scenarios — intercepting small-sized maneuvering drones, against which traditional air defense systems are often ineffective.
Both modifications are designed to protect critical infrastructure, writes LIGA.net with references to the team of the Ukrainian Council of Gunsmiths. The company has not yet disclosed detailed technical characteristics — speed, range, and height of impact.
