A network selling counterfeit gadgets has been exposed in Ukraine, causing damage to copyright holders by 38 million UAH. What were they selling?

As reported by the BEB press service, the investigation established that a group of individuals in the Khmelnytskyi region organized a scheme for the supply and sale of counterfeit gadgets.

The attackers ordered products from Chinese manufacturers and then sold chargers, cables, headphones, and smartwatches under the guise of originals, using the trademarks of an international company. Thus, the trademark owner suffered over UAH 38 million in damage.

During the searches, law enforcement officers seized counterfeit products — 1,500 smartwatches, over 2,900 units of various headphones, and 36 chargers.

One of the defendants in the case was informed of the suspicion. During the pre-trial investigation, the businessman admitted his guilt, and the issue of compensation for the damage caused to the copyright holder by the suspects was settled. Currently, two indictments have been sent to the court.
