According to the press service of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, within the year, the possibility of concluding a marriage online for widows and widowers will appear.
«They will be able to conclude a new alliance completely remotely,» the ministry assured.
In addition, the functionality of the service will be expanded with video ceremonies with barrier-free elements: people with hearing or speech impairments will be able to register a marriage with the involvement of a sign language interpreter.
The Ministry of Digital Affairs also promises to launch international delivery of marriage certificates to 48 countries around the world.
The ministry notes that the updates will be implemented step by step.
According to current statistics, almost half of all couples in Ukraine are now getting married on a smartphone. In the first half of 2026, 40% of newlyweds got married via «Diya».
As dev.ua wrote, the Ministry of Digital Affairs is currently looking for couples to test a new service in «Diya» — divorce.
The online marriage service in the «Diya» application was launched in 2024.
