Big Tech "pounced" on the construction of a new White House ballroom, which Trump initiated for $250 million

The White House is building a 90,000-square-foot ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,000 guests. US President Donald Trump's $250 million project will not be funded by taxpayers. Instead, it will be funded by Big Tech, defense, telecommunications and crypto companies.

On Thursday, the White House published a list of sponsors for the luxury addition project, TechCrunch reports .

The list of sponsors includes some of the most influential American technology companies, Amazon, Apple, Google, Meta and Microsoft, as well as defense companies Palantir and Lockheed Martin, and telecommunications providers Comcast and T-Mobile. The crypto industry is also represented among the donors to the White House ballroom: Coinbase, Ripple, Tether America and the Bart twins Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss.

But it is not known how much each donor donated to this project.

Silicon Valley’s relationship with Trump has changed markedly. While much of the tech industry initially resisted Trump when he first became president in 2016, it has grown closer to him during his second term.

Among those who donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration were Amazon , Apple , Microsoft, Google, and Adobe , Meta.
