Belarusian cyber-guerrillas claim to have uploaded 23TB of Rosstat data, including data on Russian war losses

Belarusian hacktivist groups Silent Crow and "Cyberpartisans BY" announced the successful compromise and destruction of Rosstat’s internal IT infrastructure.
As reported by the Silent Crow group, the operation resulted in access to a significant part of the department’s IT infrastructure, including the central office, regional divisions, and the main interregional center for processing and distributing statistical information.
Cyber guerrillas stated that they had about 25,000 machines under their control, which allowed them to download about 23TB of information.
Virtualization and infrastructure management systems, including ZVIRT, oVirt, and VMware ESXi, were also compromised.
According to the Silent Crow statement, they managed to hack the electronic document management system, the department’s critical information systems, the DSP circuit, etc.
“The scale of the incident goes far beyond the compromise of individual servers or user accounts. After all, we are talking about penetrating the infrastructure of a federal agency with access to central and regional systems, internal circuits, and data sets that are of state and official value,” the cyber guerrillas explained.
They focused particular attention on the fact that they managed to obtain information regarding the military losses of the Russian Federation during the war against Ukraine, including data presented in the Rosstat systems.
“It seems that this time Rosstat will have to recount not only the numbers, but also the scale of its own problems,” concluded the representatives of Silent Crow.
