BlaBlaCar has announced the launch of 20 new markets in Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia and North Africa, bringing the platform’s global presence to 41 countries.
The rapid launch was made possible by using AI to accelerate service localization and operational scaling.

The platform's expansion comes amid rising fuel prices, which are driving the popularity of ride-sharing. More than 600,000 new drivers joined the platform globally from March to May 2026 alone, the company said.
In Europe, BlaBlaCar is entering the markets of Moldova, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia.
After a decade of successful operations in Brazil, which is currently BlaBlaCar's second largest market in the world (25 million passengers in 2025), the company is expanding its presence in Latin America: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.
In Southeast Asia, building on its experience in India (the company's largest ride-sharing market with 19 million passengers), BlaBlaCar is launching in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. The region has significant growth potential due to high demand for affordable intercity transportation.
The company is launching its first operations on the African continent, starting in Morocco. This expansion builds on the geographical proximity and similar travel patterns already established in the French and Spanish markets.
