BlaBlaCar, a French ride-sharing and bus ticketing platform, has announced the integration of its service into ChatGPT. Users will now be able to plan routes and book rides through an AI-powered conversational interface.

As the company said in a press release, now instead of using traditional filters in the app or website, passengers can describe their trip request in spoken language in ChatGPT. AI analyzes the offers on the platform in real time and offers options by date, cost and mode of transport.
What ChatGPT can do for planning trips in BlaBlaCar:
Compare options: AI compares prices for buses, carpooling, and trains (currently rail services are available for France and Spain).
Refine requests: the user can ask about pet transportation rules, luggage allowance, or the availability of instant booking directly in the chat window.
Complete transactions: after choosing the optimal route, the system redirects the user to the BlaBlaCar mobile application for final confirmation and payment.
BlaBlaCar has been implementing ML solutions for over 10 years. In particular, in 2018, the company launched the Boost algorithm, which analyzes the driver’s willingness to deviate from the main route to pick up a passenger at a convenient point. According to the company, this solution increased the number of successful trips by 30%.
«The integration into ChatGPT is designed to make the platform more accessible to users, especially new ones. It is expected that the ability to plan a trip through a regular dialogue will make the service closer to a wide audience,» BlaBlaCar says.
Throughout 2026, the company plans to expand the use of generative AI across all stages of customer interaction — from user support to personalizing offers during the trip.
