«ARC Raiders has been my main game since its release. I’ve spent about 200 hours on it and I’m participating in a long personal „marathon“ on streams: I track my total time and only pause when I go to bed. So far, I’ve tracked over 4,588 hours (in 6 months). It sounds crazy, but it’s become an important part of my life and my community,» said the Ukrainian streamer with the nickname ProFessoR__TV.
ARC Raiders is a multiplayer adventure game set in a deadly future on Earth, devastated by a mysterious mechanized threat known as the ARC. The game features Expeditions, which require quests and projects to complete and a large amount of resources. They are available for a limited time, after which they disappear for two months and require training again.
According to the gamer, he had been preparing carefully for this event, but «real life happened.»
«On December 18, Odessa experienced a major blackout after repeated Russian strikes damaged the local energy infrastructure (distribution transformers). I was without electricity for almost 7 days. We also had no water or heating for several days. That week, I didn’t even think about pressing a button in the game — we were just trying to survive it,» the Ukrainian noted.
When the power came back on and he logged into ARC Raiders, he realized he had missed the Expedition because he was physically unable to play the game. He added that he felt very bad and that the game no longer brought him as much joy as it had before.
ProFessoR__TV asked the developers at Embark Studios if there was a way to give him personal access to the Expedition or return what he had lost.
«I completely understand if it’s impossible or if there are political/technical constraints, but I had to try because I really did everything right except not being online for a week when my city had no electricity,» he noted.
The Ukrainian’s post on Reddit garnered over 12,000 likes and hundreds of positive comments with support from players from the US, Canada, and Europe, as well as calls for developers to help.

The gamer from Odessa was also supported by the moderators of the ARC Raiders subreddit, who assured that they would not remove the post despite reports of complaints from some players.
«As for those reporting this for geopolitical reasons, we as moderators are not interested in that. Your messages will be ignored… This person just wants to get something in the game, perhaps for a good reason, nothing more and nothing less,» noted the moderator with the nickname Reavx.
