A streamer gave birth live on Twitch and received congratulations in the chat from the service's CEO

Streamer Fandy diversified her repertoire of World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and League of Legends broadcasts on Twitch and showed how she gave birth to a child in an eight-hour stream.

Viewers on the stream watched as Fandy went into labor and then gave birth in a small inflatable pool in her living room. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy was among them, The Verge reports.

«Hey Twitter, my water just broke, so I think I’ll be giving birth live. Time for the baby :)», the streamer wrote on X (Twitter) before the live broadcast began.

The stream, which has garnered over 50,000 views, isn’t the first birth broadcast on Twitch (or any other platform), but it is the first time a streamer with thousands of followers has live-streamed the entire process and promoted it as just her latest piece of content.

Some users wondered if Fandy’s stream violated Twitch’s rules, but the platform’s CEO’s comment during the live stream indicated that she had no complaints. «Fandy. Good luck and congratulations. I wish you all the best on this journey», wrote Dan Clancy.

Previously, streamers on Twitch tested the limits of what was allowed on the platform and broadcast practically naked, covering themselves with black stripes or exposing camera angles. This provoked user dissatisfaction and prompted the service to change the rules.
