The Ukrainian company BlueBird Tech presents a new means of countering FPV drones — the Chipa sitcom in the form of a pistol.
Sitcomet shoots a specially designed net that unfolds in the air (3×3 m) and entangles the drone’s propellers. The effective interception distance is up to 25 meters, the company told dev.ua.
Unlike small arms or electronic warfare systems, the Chipa does not create radio interference, does not unmask the position, and minimizes the risk of debris. The Chipa is considered a «last line of defense» tool when an FPV drone is already trying to attack a target.
Preparation for use takes a few seconds: pull the safety, aim and press the hook.
The company notes that with the increasing role of FPV drones on the battlefield, close-in interception solutions are becoming critical to saving military lives.
«In conditions where FPV drones have become one of the key means of destruction, solutions for close-in interception are becoming critical. BlueBird Tech is constantly working on creating effective means that will save the lives of Ukrainian military personnel,» explain the engineers of BlueBird Tech.
