Former Acting Minister of Digital Transformation Oleksandr Bornyakov became the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Brave1 defense technology cluster.
He announced this on his social media page. According to Bornyakov, in his new role he will focus on the strategic development of the ecosystem, attracting private capital, and increasing the efficiency of grant programs for military developments.
Among the key priorities in his position, Bornyakov identified the transformation of the grant model for the release of developments into serial supply to the Defense Forces, the creation of an export system for Ukrainian defense tech solutions, and the transformation of Brave1 into a key platform for international investors.
«I am returning to where I can create the greatest value for the development of Ukrainian technologies and the defense innovation ecosystem. Previously, I was part of the state vertical — coordinating, launching and scaling systemic changes. Now my role is to provide strategic focus, ask the right questions, demand results and help Brave1 move even faster,» Bornyakov noted.
Bornyakov has worked at the Ministry of Digital Affairs since 2019 as Deputy Minister for IT Development, and from January to July 2026 he served as the head of the department.
The Brave1 state cluster functions as a single platform for the development of military technologies in Ukraine, providing grant funding, organizational and expert support to developers of drones, electronic warfare systems, artificial intelligence, and other solutions for the front.
