British-Ukrainian Occam Industries raises €3.8 million in investment to scale its drone autonomy technology

Occam Industries, a British-Ukrainian defense technology company that develops software for the autonomy of military drones, has attracted 3.8 million euros in investment.
As the company’s press service told dev.ua, the round was led by the Danish fund North Ventures, and was also joined by Finnish Sparkmind and British Grenadyr.
In addition, Antler, Tech Horizons, T|Y|R.vc and Freedom Fund have reinvested in Occam Industries, bringing Occam’s total funding to €7 million.
The company intends to direct the investments towards research, development, and strengthening the engineering team in Ukraine, accelerating the deployment of technology, expanding integrations with leading drone manufacturers, and entering the defense markets of Europe and NATO countries.
Occam recalled that the AI in their technology allows combat drones to perform missions autonomously — it is not vulnerable to electronic warfare, does not depend on external communication, and works even without any connection to the operator.
Occam software can be installed on drones from different manufacturers without changing the hardware. The program runs on a low-cost computing unit and integrates into serial systems via the Occam Ludus platform.
“Today, Occam technology is already undergoing active deployment and testing with several Ukrainian manufacturers and military brigades, and feedback from the front directly impacts the product,” said Guy Wainwright, co-founder and CEO of Occam Industries.
The company currently operates in London and Kyiv and is expanding its operations from Ukraine to the defense markets of Europe and NATO countries.
As dev.ua reported, Estonian-Ukrainian defense company DOD Solution has announced a strategic partnership with German-Ukrainian drone manufacturer United Unmanned Systems (UUS). The goal of the cooperation is the mass implementation of artificial intelligence-based on-board autonomy technologies in strike unmanned platforms.
